I am Soheil, a musician and record producer with a passion for experimental sounds and creative expression. My journey began in Tehran, learning music alongside my music-loving father during the early ’90s. Later on, I left university, where I was studying Engineering, to become involved as a musician in the punk-rock scene, while staying connected with the skating and graffiti subcultures.
Our graffiti crew, and now-defunct record label, was called ‘Street Rats,’ which was the first graffiti crew of its kind in Tehran around 2003-2004, as well as a hip-hop group that remained underground forever. The skatepark was among the first places where I tried my hand at DJing, all before becoming aware of collectives like Parkingallery and Saroseda, and so forth.
Academically, I hold a B.A. in English Language and Literature (2015) and have worked as a translator for various academic projects and journals. My interest in mathematics, creative coding, and electronics has always driven me to create my own DIY devices as needed. Together with colleagues at the ‘Studio A Tehran’ team, we have managed the sound for numerous live performances and produced a number of live recordings for Classical, Jazz, and Experimental music bands, including studio production and post-production, with notable work for the Jazz Cafe in Tehran.
In 2019, I co-founded Noise à Noise in Tehran, an independent, artist-run collective and record label operating between Iran and Germany. Our label focuses on experimental and noise music, serving as a platform for artists connected to these regions and cultures. We aim to foster meaningful intercultural exchange and creative innovation in music through a counterpoint approach, utilizing noise elements and other experimental methods.

We bridge the gap between academic music and the art scene, maintaining close ties with academic sectors and local live acts. Our label supports artists by simplifying administrative processes and ensuring their works are properly copyrighted. We also conduct workshops and residency programs to further our mission.
