About

My name is Soheil Soheili. I am a Berlin-based musician, label manager, and radio producer, working at the intersection of sound, image, and text. Originally from Iran, I make art both as a personal pursuit and as a professional practice.

….I grew up in Tehran, where my first musical experiences began in the early ’90s, learning alongside my music-loving father. In the early 2000s I played in a punk band, built makeshift skateparks, and started DJing at extreme-sport events — experiences that gave me a lasting sense of debt and gratitude to underground art culture and the community that supported it….

Over time, my focus has shifted towards sound engineering and production — collaborating with diverse artists and musician friends who were interested in sound. At Studio A Tehran, we prioritized non-mainstream art, including Jazz, Contemporary, and Experimental music. My last degree is a B.A in English Language and Literature (2015), and writing is always a part of my practice.

From 2019 onward, I have facilitated releases for artists working in Experimental and Noise-based practices through aNoise — the independent, artist-run label I co-founded with my colleague Leonie Roessler.

Since moving to Germany in 2023, I have been working as a freelance multi-media artist — collaborating with bands and ensembles, curating experimental sound events with different artists, and building networks across Berlin’s music scene.

You can learn more about my own career in the timeline, and about the label activity at anoise.org.

I work at the intersection of Sound, Image, and Literature. Alongside my artistic practice, I have worked as a translator for academic papers and journals in the fields of Art, Architecture, Urban Studies, and Music Theory. More recently, I have been the executive producer of several music albums, while also working as a promoter and organizer.
